Rules for Brooklyn School of Excellence K-12 School
At our private K-12 school, we strive to create a safe and conducive learning environment for all students. To ensure the well-being and academic success of our
students, we have established the following rules:
1. Respect and Courtesy: All students must treat their peers, teachers, staff, and other members of the school community with respect and courtesy. Bullying,
harassment, discrimination, or any form of disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
2. Attendance and Punctuality: Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for academic success. Students are expected to arrive at school on time and attend all classes unless they have a valid reason for absence. Parents or guardians should notify the school if their child will be absent.
3. Dress Code: Students must adhere to the dress code policy outlined by the school. This policy may include guidelines on appropriate attire, grooming, and personal appearance to maintain a professional and respectful learning environment.
4. Academic Integrity: Students are expected to uphold academic integrity at all times. Cheating, plagiarism, or any form of dishonesty in tests, assignments, or other academic work is strictly prohibited.
5. Personal Property and Security: Students are responsible for the security and care of their personal belongings. The school is not liable for any loss or damage to personal property. Students should not bring valuable items or large amounts of money to school.
6. Use of Technology: The use of technology, including personal electronic devices, should be in accordance with the school’s policy. Students should use technology for educational purposes and refrain from engaging in activities that are disruptive, inappropriate, or violate school policies.
7. Safety and Security: Students must adhere to safety guidelines and follow instructions from teachers and staff in case of emergencies or drills. Any actions that jeopardize the safety or well-being of oneself or others will result in disciplinary action.
8. Prohibited Substances and Items: Possession, use, or distribution of illegal substances, alcohol, tobacco, vaping devices, weapons, or any other prohibited items are strictly prohibited on school premises. Violations will be dealt with seriously, and appropriate consequences will be imposed.
9. Respect for Property: Students must respect school property, including classrooms, equipment, books, and facilities. Any intentional damage or vandalism will result in disciplinary action and potential financial liability.
10. Communication and Parent Involvement: Parents or guardians are encouraged to maintain open lines of communication with the school. They should actively participate in school events, attend parent-teacher meetings, and stay informed about their child’s progress.
These rules are put in place to ensure a safe, respectful, and conducive learning environment for all students. Any violations of these rules will be addressed through appropriate disciplinary measures, which may include warnings, counseling, suspension, or even expulsion, depending on the severity of the infraction.
