My name is Ms. Hanson. Some students call me Ms. H, others prefer “Ms. Hansom”
I’ve been in education since 2012, with a short but meaningful break working in a game development company, where I learned a great deal about student engagement and how to make learning genuinely exciting.
My teaching journey has taken me across three continents:Europe, Asia and America. This has shaped my global perspective and deepened my appreciation for the power of language.
If there is one thing I hope my students take from my class, it is a true love and appreciation for words – the beauty of language, the freedom of expression, and the understanding that communication is one of the most important tools we have in life. I am passionate about helping students learn to read, love to read, and use language confidently.
In my classroom, language is never isolated. I build bridges between ELA and other disciplines through hands-on, meaningful projects that help children see connections, think critically, and explore ideas beyond the page. Your children will often come home talking about creative activities that tie language to science, art, history, and the world around them.
Above all, I want my students to feel comfortable, heard, seen, and valued for who they are. I celebrate each child’s unique strengths and encourage them to be curious investigators – not just completing tasks, but exploring, questioning, and discovering with joy.
