The Russian Olympiad “Lukomor’e” is a Russian language competition for children (often bilingual) that helps students strengthen their knowledge of the Russian language through engaging tasks in vocabulary, grammar, reading/literary knowledge, and language-based thinking. Public descriptions of the olympiad also note that it has been held internationally and includes participants from multiple countries.
At BSE, participation is open to:
Grades 2–7
Participation fee: $10
This olympiad is a wonderful opportunity for students to:
build confidence in Russian language skills
challenge themselves academically
connect language learning with culture and literature
represent BSE in an international-style academic event
